Psychiatric Emergency Program (PEP)

ResidentialPsychiatric emergency help is available 24/7 at no charge to people who are experiencing psychiatric crisis.

PEP provides immediate assessment and support as well as referrals for people of all ages who are experiencing suicidal thoughts, depression and other psychiatric or emotional problems.

Assessment is usually followed by a referral to another Ecker Center service or other appropriate community-based programs. If needed, referrals can be made to admit a person to one of several hospitals in northern Illinois for psychiatric in-patient care.

Immediate medical intervention is available if needed. No appointment is necessary, but calling 847-888-2211 before arrival is helpful. PEP is located next to Advocate Sherman Hospital Emergency Department at 1425 N. Randall Road in Elgin.
