Psychiatric Services Psychiatrists provide diagnostic assessment, consultation and prescriptions for medication to treat mental illnesses. Psychiatric nurses work closely with the psychiatrists to carry out each client's individual treatment plan. They help clients manage and obtain their medications and facilitate the use of other needed services.
