Join us for Beyond the Silence, a powerful community remembrance event that honors lives lost to overdose and suicide, uplifts survivors and families, and offers space for healing, support, and hope.
This event is held in recognition of International Overdose Awareness Day (August 31) and in advance of Suicide Prevention Month (September)—a time when communities across the country come together to raise awareness, reduce stigma, and promote hope and healing.
This year, Suicide Awareness is formally recognized alongside Overdose Remembrance, expanding the tribute wall and vigil to honor all those lost to substance use, suicide, or other mental health challenges. The goal is to create a safe, stigma-free space for families, friends, clients, and community members affected by either or both types of loss.
The evening will include a candlelight vigil, personal testimonies, free Narcan distribution, and information about 988, grief support services, and recovery resources. The event is open to clients, staff, families, and the broader community.
• Honoring the lives of those lost to overdose or suicide
• Uplifting survivors and families affected by loss
• Sharing stories of recovery and resilience
• Raising awareness about lifesaving tools like 988 and free Narcan
• Breaking stigma—because every life matters, and no one should grieve alone
